Social Impact

My social impact work bridges climate justice, caregiving, and creative resilience. As a nonprofit program leader and longtime volunteer, I’ve advanced justice-driven initiatives through national arts institutions and through grassroots organizing, parent advocacy, and community dialogue. Increasingly, my work centers the health, agency, and creative power of women navigating midlife transitions—using education, storytelling, and collective care as tools for regeneration in a changing world.

Climate Action

When Theatre Communications Group (TCG) hosted their 2019 National Conference in Miami, I worked with renowned multimedia and scholarly artist Xavier Cortada as the conference’s inaugural climate artist in residence and a nationwide group of artist-activists in creating a substantial presence for climate action work at that event and moving forward for TCG. In 2021, I produced two virtual Climate Action Summits, and co-launched and co-hosted TCG’s Climate Action Monthly Meeting (CAMM) calls, which were held monthly until 2023. I programmed climate action case studies, workshops, and speakers into various TCG convenings, both virtual and hybrid, and worked closely with organizations like Broadway Green Alliance and Groundwater Arts to amplify the important work already happening at the intersection of arts and climate action.

In 2020, I became a certified Climate Reality Leader with Climate Reality Project, the organization founded by former Vice President Al Gore. Community Activism

I earned a certificate from the Executive Program at University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Social Impact Strategy in December of 2020 (yes, I stuck with it all through COVID!). CSIS is an action-oriented training center and research lab, and this program offered tools, frameworks, and resources for building and scaling social impact enterprises. For my final project, I designed a community education initiative around climate change, inspired in part by my work with Climate Reality Project.

Grassroots organizing and community engagement have always been part of my DNA, and I’ve volunteered for many campaigns for elected officials as well as local activist groups. I’ve co-facilitated dialogue circles with We the People Warwick, an organization formed in early 2021 with the goal of fostering dialogue to bridge divides and build connections across the community that I now reside in. I’ve also spoken on panels and volunteered with Parent-Artist Advocacy League (PAAL) and with Family Central, advocating for enhanced systemic and community-driven support for parents in an increasingly chaotic world. You can read and view more about my work in these areas here, and my essay writing about my experiences as a parent here.
